Net medical expenses tax offset
Takes 2 to 10 minutes to complete
This calculator will help you work out the amount of your total net medical expenses to enter on your tax return. It will also estimate the amount of offset you are entitled to receive.
This offset is income tested. The amount of net medical expenses tax offset you can claim is determined by your adjusted taxable income. If you are a couple or a family, the combined adjusted taxable income of you and your spouse will be used.
You will need to know your adjusted taxable income, and if you have a spouse their adjusted taxable income, before you use this calculator. If you do not know your or your spouse's adjusted taxable income you can calculate your adjusted taxable income using our income tests calculator. If you need more information about adjusted taxable income, click on the 'Help with this page' button.
You only need to provide the amount of your total net medical expenses in your tax return. The ATO will calculate the amount of offset you are entitled to for you.
