Home office expenses calculator
Takes 5 to 20 minutes to complete
What is the home office expenses calculator?
If you can claim a tax deduction for home office expenses as part of your business or employment related expenses for the year ended 30 June 2007, 30 June 2008 or 30 June 2009, this application is for you.
You can claim a deduction if you carry out income producing work at home and incur expenses in using your home for that purpose.
As a general rule, deductions are only available for expenses such as electricity and the decline in value of office furniture. In limited circumstances a deduction may also be allowable for occupancy expenses such as rent and mortgage interest.
This application helps you determine if you are entitled to occupancy expenses. The application then helps you calculate the allowable deduction for the year ended 30 June 2007, 30 June 2008 or 30 June 2009.
Note:
This application is best viewed on 'full screen'. (Function key 'F11' allows you to toggle between full screen and normal screen.)
